Pediatric Resident Burnout-Resilience Study Consortium
To improve pediatric resident resilience, compassion, confidence in providing calm, compassionate care and wellness. Through creation of a Pediatric Resident Burnout – Resilience Study Consortium (PRB-RSC) , involving pediatric residents in more than 40 residency programs in the US, we will be equipped to study the epidemiology, natural history and impact of interventions designed to address burnout and improve resilience in pediatric residents so they can become enduring and effective physicians.
The PRB-RSC will be an effective member-run organization that leads Graduate Medical
Education in identifying causes and providing a platform for design and testing of interventions that address burnout prevention/mitigation and resilience promotion in pediatric residents; as such the Consortium will be a leading provider of evidence-based methods to develop enduring and effective physicians in all disciplines.
The PRB-RSC provides a collaborative platform for member institutions that are committed to studying the epidemiology and methods to prevent/mitigate burnout and promote resilience in pediatric residents through implementation of multi-center studies that ultimately benefit pediatric residents, institutions and most importantly, patients and their families through training of enduring and effective pediatricians.
